Nova iskra and folkk at conferences in belgium, serbia, montenegro and bosnia and herzegovina

This fall, Nova Iskra was present at several important European and regional conferences focused on creative industries.

 

Within the Montenegro 2016 conference dedicated to economics, with the topic Development perspective of the western BalkansMarko Radenković, General Manager of Nova Iskra, took part in the panel Creative economy – the needs of Balkan innovation and start-up business centers, where he presented previous work and organizational model of Nova Iskra .

 

The conference, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, was held on October 27th and 28th at Hotel Splendid in Budva. The conference was organized in cooperation with the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations from Berlin.

Nova Iskra was also invited to present its organizational model and the process of developing our hub at the two-day B-Creative conference, one of the first events of the European project Creative Tracks, which was held in November in Namur, Belgium. B-Creative is a global event that focuses on cross-cutting nature of the creative sector and its ability to encourage social and economic innovations. Nova Iskra participated on November 2nd in the panel Creativity: Meaningful innovation?, in which Marko Radenković, General Manager of Nova Iskra, presented the current work and organizational model of Nova Iskra.

Within the two-day conference Sarajevo Unlimited, which was held November 2nd-3rd in Sarajevo, Nova Iskra had the pleasure to present its design brand FOLKK, as part of the Design Unlimited panel, alongside projects Gazzda and Smart Lumies. Sarajevo Unlimited brought together all relevant institutions, companies, organizations, startups and investors in order to promote innovation in business, and the use of startup companies’ resources.

In October, Nova Iskra’s Co-working Manager Miljan Peljević took part in the first Serbian Co-working conference held October 15th-16th at Mokrin House in Mokrin, alongside 15 other co-working initiatives from all over Serbia. The participants had a chance to meet with each other and exchange past experiences, and plan future common actions which should strengthen the co-working community in Serbia and raise awareness about co-working at the local level. The next conference is expected to be held in April 2017.
