André Pahl is the latest designer in residence at Nova Iskra

This May, André Pahl is the new guest designer at Nova Iskra, as part of the program Designer in Residence, which in this cycle is realized in collaboration with Goethe-Institut Belgrade.

Designer in Residence is a unique residential program conducted by Nova Iskra, in collaboration with a number of European partners, taking place since 2014 in cities such as Malmo, Marseilles and Belgrade. The partners this year are the largest Swedish organization dedicated to support of artistic production IASPIS, the French Institute and Goethe-Institut in Serbia, AMI/Dynamo from Marseille, and also EUNIC.

Interdisciplinary work, careful planning of each of the residencies according to the needs of their users and the specifics of the host organizations are the main features of the program. Since 2014, more than 30 authors benefited form the program. Besides Serbian designers who had an opportunity to work in Sweden and France, Nova Iskra hosted a number Swedish, French and Slovakian designers and authors, who engaged with the local creative scene, took part in Nova Iskra’s programs and presented exhibitions and events, besides working daily within Nova Iskra’s space.

In 2018, Nova Iskra is welcoming its first German designer in residence, who will be in Belgrade throughout May.

During his residential stay in Belgrade, André will engage with the local design and music communities and take part in a couple of events. The program is realized in collaboration with Goethe-Institut Belgrade. This Autumn, Nova Iskra will also host a Swedish and a French author, selected in separate open calls conducted by partners.
