Western Balkans Digital Cities Map

We are proud to present Western Balkans Digital Cities Map which was created at the end of the three-month project DIGITAL CITIES (Connecting Cities of the United Kingdom and Western Balkans through Digital Industry).

The map visualises the connections created between 55 hubs, organizations, startups and companies from 27 cities across the Western Balkans. It represents the powerful potential of the WB region when it comes to the domain of creative and digital industries, social innovation, fintech projects, as well as entrepreneurship at large.

The DIGITAL CITIES project has brought together 226 professionals from the UK and Western Balkans through policy and skills development, city-2-city links and b-2-b collaboration projects. A powerful network of digital industry professionals from 41 cities and 7 participating countries was created, which already serves as a platform for future actions and collaborations within the field of digital industries between the UK and Western Balkans.

The project aimed to contribute to the development of the digital and creative sectors in the Western Balkans by strengthening policies and strategy, facilitating hub and city networks and collaborations, and developing the skills of professionals and hub leaders by developing attachments with their UK counterparts.

DIGITAL CITIES was funded by the UK Government and implemented by the British Council, in partnership with Culture Code and Creative England.
