Audience development course

Nova Iskra and Creative Europe Desk Serbia present audience development course. Audience Development is an educational project, a one-month course for representatives of civil society organizations and public institutions in culture, as well as individual professionals. The focus is on those who recognize that additional education is needed to successfully operate, i.e. reassess and improve their communication strategies towards the public, both in terms of presentation of their programs and in terms of continuous rejuvenation and access to new audiences, including nurturing the existing audience.

The aim of the course is to improve the practical knowledge and skills of representatives of organizations and institutions that are related to issues of audience development – in terms of presentation skills and the use of diverse tools to communicate with the audience, but also through the reflection on the strategic communications approach for specific projects. The project contributes to strengthening the capacities of cultural institutions, including professionalization of employees.

The course will discuss the articulation and reflection of the vision, mission and goals of the organization itself or the particular project, introducing the concepts of strategic and integrated communications, new ways of targeting specific groups, visual communications and total design (at the institutional/project level), as well as practical tools and approaches for the use of social networks and online communities in order to popularize projects and seek target groups.

The lectures will be presented by Nana Radenković (Nova Iskra), Relja DeretaSlobodan Jovanović (Coba & Associates) and Neda Šorak (Sunny Digital). Beside lectures of our prominent experts, examples of good practices will be presented – the project of the exhibition Pupin and activities of Centre for Promotion of Science.

Participation in the program is free, but capacities are limited. All interested parties should apply via this link – until Saturday, December 3rd. Participants will receive confirmations on Monday, December 5th. The course will be held in the premises of Nova Iskra (Gavrila Principa 43, Belgrade) over four Wednesdays in December, from 6 to 8 PM  – December 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th.

Audience Development is one of the central themes of the “Creative Europe” program of the European Union, and thus the cooperation with the Creative Europe Desk Serbia is logical, while the project is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Serbia.
