Connect for Creativity’s second international conference “Creative Catalyst” takes place in Kayseri

Led by the British Council, in partnership with ATÖLYE and Abdullah Gül University in Turkey, Bios in Greece and Nova Iskra in Serbia, Connect for Creativity will hold its second international conference in Kayseri. The conference, titled “Creative Catalyst: A role for universities in building creative industries” will take place on 5 and 6 December 2019, at Abdullah Gül University in Kayseri and aims to foster collaboration between creative industries and universities. Travel and accommodation expenses of a number of selected participants will be covered. Applications can be made via the Connect for Creativity website until 27 October 2019.
Connect for Creativity is an 18-month project co-funded by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey through the Intercultural Dialogue programme that is led by Yunus Emre Institute. The project aims to strengthen intercultural dialogue by bringing creative hubs and communities together. In parallel with this objective, Abdullah Gül University is hosting an international networking conference to bring together academics, artists, creative and cultural professionals, and policy-makers.
Organized within the framework of Connect for Creativity project to foster collaboration between creative industries and universities, the conference titled “Creative Catalyst: A role for universities in building creative industries” will take place in Kayseri, Turkey on 5 and 6 December 2019 at Abdullah Gül University.
The second international conference of the project, which is led by the British Council, in partnership with ATÖLYE and Abdullah Gül University in Turkey, Bios in Greece and Nova Iskra in Serbia will focus on creativity and intercultural competencies and the role that collaborations between creative industries and universities can play in shaping the future of education. The conference will explore why creativity and cross-cultural competency are listed among the ten most important skills of the future. It will also focus on questions such as, ‘What is the role and contribution of higher education in the creative economy?’, ‘How can creative industries take an active role in the design and further development of future education?’
Policymakers, opinion leaders and experts from the industry will meet in Kayseri
The conference will bring together decision-makers, opinion leaders and experts from across Europe to explore the future of creativity, skills, workforce, and culture and it will welcome its participants with a comprehensive program on 5 and 6 December 2019. The event will offer creative and cultural professionals an opportunity to exchange knowledge, ideas, and experience to build dialogue and foster new collaborations through workshops, group discussions as well as keynotes, ‘Follow the Speakers’ session and panels.
This second international conference that will take place within Connect for Creativity is expected to host participants from among academics, artists, technologists, creative and cultural professionals, and policymakers across the UK, Europe and Western Balkans.
The project will cover the travel and accommodation expenses of a limited number of participants
The conference is open to the public and is free of charge. Registration is required for participation. Travel and accommodation expenses of a limited number of participants selected by an open call will be covered within the scope of the project. Participants will finance their own per diem costs.
