About the lecture
As part of the Designer in Residence program,, Nova Iskra is hosting the French media artist Adelin Schweitzer over the course of December, supported by the French Institute. On Thursday, December 15th he will hold a lecture on visual techniques used in the domains of “augmented” and “virtual” reality.
Through his lecture 360°: VR and AR experiences – 360° techniques applied to art and performance, Adelin will present his artistic practice, current projects and technologies that are used in the rapidly growing areas of augmented and virtual reality.
If there will be further interest, at the end of the lecture an additional practical presentation will be scheduled at the end of December, with guests who are interested to get more familiar with some of the technologies used by Adelin Schweitzer.
The Serbian designer Željko Lončar, who has just returned from a one-month study visit from Marseilles as part of the same exchange program, will also attend the lecture. The two authors will briefly talk about their experiences during the bilateral exchange between authors from Serbia and France.
Since 2014, the program Designer In Residence is jointly organized by Nova Iskra and the Swedish Institute with a number of partners from Sweden (IASPIS, Stpln). Over the course of last year, the program was joined by the Slovak organization Creative Industry Košice. From 2016, France also joins the exchange program by supporting our cooperation with AMI Center and the organization LFO from Marseilles. This new exchange is supported by the French Institute in Belgrade and the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Serbia.

Adelin Schweitzer was born in 1978 and lives and works in Marseille. He graduated at the Academy of Arts in the city of Aix-en-Provence in 2004, and already in 2005 presented his first device "VideoPuncher 1.3" in Madrid, at the Biennale of Contemporary Art ARCO, as well in 2006 at the exhibition La Vilette in Numérique in Paris. From this experience, a new project ININTERACTIF was created, in which Adeline builds devices that question the audience and its attitude towards the man/machine interaction in a ironic way.
