NOVA ISKRA announces the open call for the position of Manager of International Cooperation

Nova Iskra, in line with the increased volume of activities on the international level, continues to extend its team.

We are looking for an experienced, multifaceted and capable project manager who has the capacities to lead the entire department of international cooperation within Nova Iskra, with a focus on EU projects and partnerships, as well as fundraising of non-profit projects.

Within this field of activity of Nova Iskra, a number of projects are under way, in partnerships with organizations from Sweden, Turkey, the UK, France, Germany, Italy , Portugal, Belgium, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria and other countries, while several projects are in the phases of preparation or further development. Furthermore, Nova Iskra plans the development of additional network projects, as well as taking on the project leader position in some of the upcoming Creative Europe calls.

Among the noted projects that Nova Iskra has realized or initiated are also European Creative Hubs Network, Designer in Residence, Folkk, Smart Living Challenge, Excite2.0, Digital Cities or Zajedničko.org. Most of them are realized through partnerships with international cultural centers and organizations, but also with the support of European and international funds, such as Creative Europe, Erasmus+ or Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, as well as of Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, Ministary of Education, Science and Technological Development, or the Development Agency of Serbia.

We are hereby announcing the open call for the position Manager of International Cooperation and Fundraising (full-time position in Belgrade, Serbia). The call is also open to international applicants.

 

LIST OF ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 40 hours a week (full-time position) at the Nova Iskra offices
  • respect for the agreed commitments and responsible time tracking
  • collaborative work and daily communication with colleagues form the sector, managers of other Nova Iskra sectors, as well as GM of Nova Iskra
  • operational collaboration with other sectors of Nova Iskra – marketing, finances, program…
  • independence – management of larger projects, including the entire cycle from developing the applications, over implementation to reporting
  • program development and preparation of projects and project activities
  • continuous communications with project partners, participants, candidates
  • making of monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual plans
  • agile documentation, administration and internal communication
  • planning of the strategic development of the sector
  • maintaining of all existing, and developing new partnerships
  • participation in partner meetings (locally and internationally), meeting minutes
  • preparation of applications for co-financing of EU projects on the national level, as well as fundraising support for other departments of Nova Iskra
  • preparation of materials for media and social networks
  • agile management of overall project documentation (above all – financial), and meticulous delivery of project reports (narrative and financial)
  • preparation, programming and coordination of events and programs that are an integral part of project activities
  • following potential sources of funding for the projects that are in preparation, or in realization
  • representing Nova Iskra in network organizations and associations, holding presentations at conferences
  • developing relationships with civil and governmental sectors, as well as other relevant stakeholders

 

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A CANDIDATE WHO:

  • has at least three years of experience in the domains of fundraising, project management, administration and coordination of international projects
  • has specific experience on the position of manager of at least one project from one of the following programs: Creative Europe, Culture 2007-13, Horizon2020
  • knowledge of frameworks and regulations of other programs in which he/she might not have had direct experience
  • has developed skills of written and spoken communication
  • has developed project writing skills
  • has experience in project budgeting
  • has developed presentation and negotiating skills
  • has experience in executive production
  • has mastered written (business) correspondence
  • is using English language, written and spoken, in an advanced way
  • has great knowledge of the MS Office programs
  • has developed analytical and creative thinking, as well as capabilities for strategic thinking
  • is excellent at planning, and good at delegating
  • respects agreed deadlines and timelines
  • has knowledge about financial and legal administration in relation to this type of work
  • has an agile and lean approach to documentation and administration
  • likes to work in a team, through regular and clear communication
  • knows well the Serbian, regional and European “scenes” in the domains of art, creativity and entrepreneurship
  • has personal affinities towards the arts, design, culture, entrepreneurship, digital domain…

 

ADVANTAGES

  • more than three years of experience in the domains of fundraising, project management, administration and coordination of international projects
  • specific work experience in working on projects in more than one EU financing program (Creative Europe – Culture or Creative Europe – Media, as well as Horizon2020, IPA, Erasmus and others)
  • experience in curatorial work, or in the domain of creative direction
  • deeper knowledge of the local and regional creative scene, with an accent on design and digital arts
  • creative/critical writing skills
  • advanced use of MS Excel program
  • experience in using other software or hardware platforms relevant for this type of work (Trello, Slack…)
  • English language certificate. or active use of more than one foreign language
  • personal motivation for long-term work on this type of projects, as well as within Nova Iskra as an organization
