About the workshop
How many times have you heard that photograph tells more than a thousand words? To understand those words often means to enter an interesting world, filled with unexpected impressions. When you start creating or even just looking at documentary photographs, it is important to know that you have an instrument of truth in front of you, as documentary photography is usually referred to in the media.
Documentary photography captures the moment and creates eternity from it, paying attention of the viewer on the specific detail that tells the story which the photographer noticed bare-eyed. Damir Šagolj, photo-journalist and the winner of the Pulitzer Prize, will discuss exactly this topic. The photo-journalist with wide experience will share with the audience the differences between photography now and then, followed by the presentation that represents photography as a tool. The participants will meet the basics of documentary photography and learn how to tell a story through photographs.
