Dr Julie De Groot (°1988) is postdoctoral researcher, projectmanager and guest professor at the University of Antwerp (Belgium), both for the Centre for Urban History and the research group Antwerp Cultural Heritage Sciences. She completed her PhD in History at the University of Antwerp in 2017. Her doctoral thesis was reworked in a book that was published in 2022 by Leuven University Press: At Home in Renaissance Bruges. Connecting Objects, People and Domestic Spaces in a Sixteenth-Century City. She’s currently projectmanager of and researcher in the Horizon Europe project Tracks4Crafts that aims to examine and transform the transmission of traditional crafts knowledge (TCK) to enhance the societal and economic valuation of crafts and align them with a future-oriented heritage approach in Europe.
